Gold and silver plated jewellery

Gold- and silver-plated jewellery is a wonderful choice for those seeking a luxurious accessory or an affordable gift. Plating involves applying a thin layer of 18k gold or 925 sterling silver over a base metal – in our case, brass. These pieces offer the same elegant appearance as solid gold or silver jewellery, but at a more accessible price point.

Over time, the plating may gradually wear off, revealing the brass underneath. This is a natural and expected characteristic of plated jewellery and should not be seen as a defect.

To preserve your jewellery’s finish and shine, please follow these care tips:

  • Avoid contact with products such as perfume, hairspray, body lotion, or facial mist. Wear your jewellery only once your skin is dry.

  • Keep your pieces away from chemicals such as oils, nail polish, nail polish remover, chlorine, and perfumes, as they can cause tarnishing or dullness.

  • We recommend removing your jewellery before showering, washing hands, swimming (especially in chlorinated water), or during physical activities that may cause sweating.

Cleaning

After wearing, gently wipe your jewellery with a soft cotton cloth to remove any dust or residue. It's also a good idea to store your jewellery in a jewellery box or pouch when not in use to protect it from scratches, air exposure, and moisture. By following these simple care instructions, you can extend the beauty and lifespan of your jewellery.
